I am thinking about taking a noncredit course at UNO this spring - there are a few that interest me. I am starting to expand my interests again - This is good.
I am working on a project right now that fires me up in several ways - it allows me to be creative, and feel useful in the much larger scheme of things. This is good.
Oh - my dept. is under budget, with higher than projected profits by 38% AND is experiencing an all time low in turn over rate. Looks like I may be getting a HUGE raise. This is good.
I have a grip on this holiday thing - I have decided that Jake and I will discuss new traditions this sunday evening while having hot chocolate by a roaring fire - we are lucky because we get to plan our own future holiday traditions.... this is good.
In the morning - at 830am Michael is cutting my hair (bow down, arms outstretched - *not worthy stance*) He has been cutting my hair for many many years (and happens to be drop dead yummy (and also married to a friend of mine) he gives great scalp massage too ..... He has not cut my hair in almost 2 years cause I just could never seem to make the schedules work~and frankly I went a very long time without getting a haircut. He books up 3 months at a time.
He called me back and with 4 days notice I am getting a Michael haircut - this is gooood.
I read the other day that I am supposed to be depressed and very down right now because it is the first holiday season of my seperation/divorce..... this is the first holiday season in a very long time that I feel pretty damn good. Go figure. Here I am beating several odds and gaining momentum in what is supposed to be a horrid time in my life. HA - This is damned good.
It is friday - the end of what has been a very long week.
You guessed it.

My son's scores are in the 99th percentile (of the nation) on most all of the 86 subjects covered in the IOWA test. I am proud. That is all.
PS - that means that his scores were higher than 99% of all students in this country........yeah I had to ask. He is gifted - I am not. |

I have these favorite shoes - and considering that I own more shoes than should be allowed, the fact that THESE shoes are my favorite is saying plenty. The funniest thing about them is this - I have had them since I was 17. I have had them resoled, blacked several times..
I still wear them often, they were a 100.00 investment 20 years ago. They are still in very good shape. I bought them, in my goth baby days.....when I would wear nothing but black - no matter the occasion. They are flat black, silver side buckles - leather motorcycle shoes....yeah, my boyfriend at the time (since dead and gone) had a cool old Indian bike. I can get away with wearing these shoes to work still - on casual Fridays, with some butch pants, a fem cut white button down shirt, black jacket and lots of red lipstick - and I do. It takes the edge off the corporate blahs.
You can get a fairly good shoe shine at the airport for $3.00..... just FYI. |
